Fees
Private Health Insurance
Fees are based on the Gebührenordnung für Psychotherapeuten (GOP). The costs of a psychotherapeutic session of 50 mins are between 100 and 153 Euro. Occasionally, additional expenses may be incurred for services such as diagnostic reports or neuropsychological tests etc. These will be discussed before completion.
Private health insurance companies generally cover costs of private psychotherapy sessions. However, depending on the contract, costs may not or only partially be refunded.
Therefore, it is recommended to clarify formalities with the private health insurance company before starting private psychotherapy.
Private Pay
Costs of a privately paid psychotherapy are based on the fees in the Gebührenordnung für Psychotherapeuten (GOP).
Coaching
Costs of coaching sessions are also based on the fees in the Gebührenordnung für Psychotherapeuten (GOP).
Statutory Health Insurance
Treatment costs in a private practice are usually not covered by statutory insurance companies. If you still wanted to work with me, you could do so via private pay.
Reimbursement Procedure
According to § 13 Section 3 SGB V, those with statutory health insurance have the opportunity to get the costs of a private psychotherapeutic treatment reimbursed, provided certain requirements have been met beforehand. In the case that a registered psychotherapist will not be found within a reasonable amount of time and the search is documented, it may be possible to start treatment in a private practice. However, statutory health insurance companies define “reasonable” differently. Decisions are being made on a case-by-case basis. Please clarify this in advance.
Only a German guide on the reimbursement procedure can be found on the website of the Psychotherapist Chamber of North Rhine-Westphalia (click here or here).
